Toothache is perhaps one of the most common types of dental problem. It is also one of the most undesirable dental conditions because it seems to cause all the other parts of the body to ache too. No matter how young or old you are, you can suffer from a toothache. In fact, even if you brush your teeth every day, there is still a likelihood that you will suffer from a tooth problem in the long run. There are a lot of factors that could cause a tooth problem which leads to an aching tooth.

One of the major causes of a tooth case is the loss of filling or the continuous decaying of the teeth. The choice of foods in your diet can be the leading cause of tooth decay. Sometimes, brushing your teeth is just not enough. Regular dental visits will also keep you from suffering from unbearable tooth ache. When you are dealing with dental emergencies particularly toothaches, here are a couple of things that you should do.

* Gargle a warm solution of saline water.

* Brush your teeth and floss after.

* If the gums around the infected tooth are already swelling, make sure to apply cold compress on the cheek where the infected tooth is near.

* Take some pain relievers to help you feel better.

* See your dentists even if you are still not scheduled for your regular check-up.

It is important to deal with an aching tooth before the pain gets any worse. Are you suffering from toothache pain? Call the Nature’s Design Dental Spa team and book an appointment.

Do you have chipped or damaged teeth? If you do, bonding is surely one of the dental treatments that your dentist will recommend. Bonding is a dental treatment that ensures that the chipped or damaged teeth are properly repaired. And yet dental bonding can also be used in dealing with so many other dental problems. If you want to change the shape of your teeth, fill in the gaps between teeth or to simply deal with teeth discoloration, you can always ask your dentist about the options of using dental bonding.

When you go to your dentist to get dental bonding done for a tooth, you can expect to have the procedure completed before you leave the clinic. But if there are many other teeth that are involved in the procedure, it might take a few more dental consultations. Usually, the dentist begins the procedure by using the tooth-colored bond called resin. It is made up of a plastic dental material. This is to prepare the tooth that needs to be fixed. The actual dental bond is applied in several layers to ensure long term security.

The hardening process of the bonds only takes a few minutes. The layering of the bond is done until the tight amount of it is applied or until the expected depth has been reached. Learn more about the positive effects of dental bonding from a reputable dentist.

One of the best things about life is that there is always something that you can do to prevent the worse form happening. The only thing that is left is to make a choice to do the right things or to continue doing the wrong ones. Prevention, as medical experts say, is always better than cure. If you don’t want to suffer in the long run, then you better do something about it today.

Oral cancer is a very scary disease. It can be deadly, fatal and really painful too. And yet, what remains to be true about oral cancer is that it is a disease that can be prevented. The process of the cancer development may be a lot faster than you first thought it was but there is still a lot that you can do when it comes to prevention.

The best thing is always the most ordinary thing that you do – brushing. If you want to enjoy good oral health, then you better start brushing regularly. Since brushing might not be enough, it is a must that you consult with your dentist twice a year or as often as you are recommended. These experts know a lot more than you do when it comes to oral health. Prevent oral cancer by talking with the best advocates for its prevention – dental experts.

Brace are following suit with the rest of technology, getting less visible and less bulky. More adults are seeing this change, and wondering if they too can get their teeth fixed. It may be to avoid additional problems with their teeth, or just for a boost of self-confidence stemming from cosmetic concerns. Even oral problems classed as ‘Cosmetic’ can cause oral problems too, unaligned teeth can lead too premature wear and tear, advanced tooth decay and gum disease not to mention jaw problems and the amount of surgery needed to fix the more serious issues.

Braces fix the following :

Gaps between teeth (Spacing)

Crooked Teeth

Underbite

Overbites

Crossbites

Teeth that push against one another (Crowding)

So how do you know if braces would be right for you?

Well it’s really up to you, it never hurts to just go to your dentist and ask for a recommendation to an orthodontist. They specialize in fixing problems with teeth that are not aligned properly.
Once the appointment is booked, he or she will have a quick look and could possibly take some x-rays to get all the information needed. Based on what your orthodontist will find, you’ll have a treatment plan recommended to you. It may be that you won’t need braces after all, your orthodontist could recommend something that would benefit you better.

How do I know if adult braces are right for me?

If you think you might benefit from braces, ask your dentist to recommend an orthodontist — someone specially trained to fix problems with teeth that are not aligned properly. The orthodontist will look at your teeth and maybe take X-rays to study the underlying bone structure. Based on what he or she finds, a treatment plan will be recommended. While braces are a popular option for fixing misaligned teeth, an orthodontist can tell you whether you may benefit more from other types of orthodontics like removable retainers, headgear or aligners.

There’s no question that more and more patients are placing value on healthy and attractive teeth, but the questions appear when it comes to maintaining them. With most issues in oral hygiene, the earliest possible care is the most important.
DIAGNOdent lets you start treatment before the problem can even think about becoming serious. It specializes in detecting even the smallest ‘caries’ which is basically a cavity or decay. Finding these are essential when it comes to protecting and preserving the root.

How good is DIAGNOdent?

Caries are difficult to find, a lot of them are diagnosed as ‘hidden’ even when using traditional technology.
DIAGNOdent has many titles and recommendations under its belt, here are few.

DIAGNOdent received rave reviews from leading testing facilities (REALITY, Dental Advisor) and many practicing dentists all over the world.

It has a high level of patient acceptance and satisfaction.

Over 90% accurate in caries detection.

DIAGNOdent is a small portable device which is simple to use.

For more information about DIAGNOdent, call the Nature’s Design Dental Spa team or visit http://www.naturesdesigndentalspa.com today!

Your teeth are precious. They should be treated as such. If you treat them well, they’ll last you, quite literally, a lifetime.
Once you know how your teeth function and what can cause things to go wrong, you can work towards managing them. Although there are many different cases of oral health problems, tooth erosion and tooth decay are among the most common.

Tooth Erosion

The part of your tooth that everybody sees is what dentists would call tooth enamel. Tooth enamel protects the bone and nerve tissues inside your teeth. Though originally designed to be an effective barrier against everything, there are now some foods and drinks that can cause enamel to erode away, foods which our enamel has not evolved any protection against.

Normally, your mouth has enough saliva, enriched with enough of its own chemicals, to allow your teeth to protect themselves. Too much of these harmful foods and drinks however, and your body starts to lose the battle.

The steps to avoiding this kind of damage are quite simple: limit the amount of time your teeth are exposed to such food and drink. Rinse out with water after eating an excessive amount, and allow at least an hour for your enamel to recover before brushing your teeth.

Tooth Decay

Tooth Decay can be a much more serious problem. It comes about when dental plaque builds up due to your teeth being left unclean. Plaque is home to a massive amount of tiny bacteria, which often soften the enamel, and then start to wear it away. Once plaque infiltrates your protective barrier, the acid that comes along with it is able to ruin your teeth from the inside-out.

We can control the process of tooth decay in two ways. Firstly, by keeping our teeth free of plaque, and secondly, by avoiding feeding the bacteria inside the plaque with the sugary things that we already know are bad for us. That brings us back again to modern fast foods. In times gone by, our ancestors ate crunchy vegetables and fruit – protect your teeth by making healthier food choices and practicing diligent oral health care.

If you have any minor aesthetic issues, dental bonding is a relatively quick and inexpensive cosmetic procedure used to correct them.

Dentists will usually recommend bonding for the following problems:

Gaps between teeth

Lengthening teeth

Changing the shape of your teeth

Fixing chipped teeth

Protecting roots where gums have receded

So how does it work?

Dental bonding usually starts out with a resin or strong plastic material painted directly onto your teeth. Your dentist will mix up a colour that matches that rest of your smile.

For the next step, a special light is used to dry out the compound on the teeth which bonds it to any teeth it has been applied to.

After it’s bonded, your dentist will usually polish and shape the tooth to provide a good look to make your smile as natural as possible.

Although Dental Bonding is a good fix for a lot of problems, it still has some limitations. For example, if you have a tooth that falls under a condition above, but it’s also a tooth you use to bite and chew with, the bond may be likely to chip or crack, which means your dentist will usually opt for a veneer or crown. Front teeth can be a perfect place to try bonding, but they usually don’t last as long as veneers.

The average lifespan of a dental bond is around 6 years. If you have any questions about dental bonding, if you would like to learn how dental bonding can improve your smile or if you would like to book an appointment, contact your holistic dentist, Nature’s Design Dental Spa, today!

Invisible Braces may seem like a dream: straightening your teeth without going through the hardships of awkward metal braces, limitations on eating, awkward brushing, and missed photo opportunities.

But of course, invisible braces are no longer a dream for many people with crooked teeth!

Nature’s Design Dental Spa offers Invisalign invisible braces, a series of aligners that work just as traditional braces do, shifting your teeth gradually into their correct position, but Invisible braces are completely removable and transparent, so no one call tell you’re wearing braces when you are!

We take an impression of your teeth, and talk with you about what you want your smile to look like, and advanced 3D technology creates a series of aligners designed to be worn for 2 weeks each.

Unlike traditional braces, invisible braces can be removed, meaning there’s no restriction on what you want to eat or drink. Invisible braces also have a much lighter load on your teeth and gums, often being hardly painful or none at all.

Each set of aligners is worn for two weeks before being exchanged for a new set, and studies have shown that it typically takes 10 – 12 months for the desired results, though it does of course depend on the degree of your misalignment and the speed with which your teeth are moved into the correct position.

Invisalign aligners are great for adults who want to straighten their teeth, but don’t want to be seen with the type of braces normally seen on children and teens. Invisalign is available for both teens and adults.

Contact Nature’s Design Dental Spa to find out more about Invisalign and learn how they can help shape your smile into the perfect smile for you.
